Let's start from beginning. Meet "That Detail Guy." 

 

My name is Brian, I was born and raised in the Blue Ridge Mountains in Northern Virginia. I was raised in a low income household my whole childhood. I absolutely love and adore my Mother & Father for all of the sacrifices they made for their kids but we didn't have a lot of money or a nice newer house, and that was okay.  

I signed up for the Army my junior year of high school, and did 14 months of "delayed entry." Eighteen days after High School graduation, I was on a plane to South Carolina for basic training. I then served 3 1/2 years of Active Duty at Fort Bragg, North Carolina as an All Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic(91B).  

The military taught me many many life lessons. To always put my head down and work hard even when no one is looking, to never give up, and to be resilient, just to name a few. Being raised in a low income household also taught me a lot useful life skills like how to work on cars & trucks, how to fix just about anything, and to genuinely appreciate the things that I have.  I always liked my car or truck to be clean, and as shiny as I could make it. I liked them to STAND OUT in the parking lot, and the occasional compliments that came with that at the store or gas station. Even though they were not the newest(I've still never owned a brand new vehicle).  

I accidentally discovered professional auto detailing when I took an apprenticeship type Auto Body Tech position at a local body shop here in Vicksburg, MI and was also their "detailer." Not long after taking that position I discovered that I enjoyed detailing and loved how rewarding it was, I also tend to do some of my best brainstorming while I'm detailing. Six months later in the middle of the pandemic, I started That Detail Guy Auto Detailing, and the rest is history.  Thanks to the wonderful example that my Mother & Father set for me on how be a great parent, I am now a family man myself. Happily married for 11 years now with two kiddos, a 7yr old & a 4yr old.
